Photo Contest Information

The photo contest will begin every April 1st and run through August 9th. Savannah loved the renewal of nature in the spring. This year (2026), the contest will focus on landscape photos, no people in them. The judging will take place and the winners will be announced at an art show celebrating Savannah’s birthday the first week of September.

The fee is $20 per photo entered. There are three categories: Professional, amateur, and 18 and under. The contest will be judged by three local artists.

September 4th, from 5p.m. to 9 p.m. the Savannah Lively Butterfly Legacy Annual Juried Art Exhibition will be held at Emergent Arts, 341-A Whittington Ave., in downtown Hot Springs. All submitted photos will be displayed. Three local professional artists will judge each category. There will also be a community choice award so bring your family and friends to vote for your favorite photo. The winning photo from each category will receive $100 cash prize. All winning photos will be published in The Sentinel Record as well.

All applicants must sign a photo release, giving the foundation the right to reproduce their photo and use for promotional purposes. Submitted photos will also be on sale to the public the night of the Exhibition in an array of sizes and formats. All proceeds go to the Savannah Lively Butterfly Legacy
